Our Mission

To provide public awareness and education regarding the impact of impaired or distracted driving.

To help individuals, caregivers, and their loved ones with referrals to community and national programs to guide them as they go through the life altering, life changing journey after falling victim to an impaired or distracted driver.

To challenge injustice, to support stronger sentencing guidelines for driving while distracted or impaired.

Our long term goal is to build an "Alex's Hope Lodge" to provide a home-like special respite place for individuals and their loved ones who have been affected by the crime of impaired or distracted driving. To rest, find new hope, peace, and the loving support of others who have gone through this same life changing type of an event.

October, 31st, 2009, Alex was walking with 3 college friends up in Duluth Minnesota.
Alex, & his friends became victims to a hit-n-run drunk driver. Alex sustained a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). He has permanent memory loss and requires 24 hour care.

"Best speaker Fosston High School brought in."  Zachary Anderson

I was at Bemidji high school today and listened to your story and it was truly inspiring! Knowing how hard a kid can fight and still be in his feet after all that! I have watched the movie fifty first dates and it must be hard to be going through that but I absolutely love that movie!"   Haley Newell

"As an educator, what makes me most proud of Alex and what he's done with his situation is that he is making a difference. He's taking a horrible thing & making the most of it by sharing his story in hopes that he can prevent this from happening to others. And he's doing it with a smile on his face. He and his family are truly class acts! I hope people listen and learn from what he has to share! I'm proud of you Alex! You truly are a SAINT!"
